Emerald RNG Manip Introduction
Pokemon Emerald might be the BEST game to RNG Manip in of all time. Gamefreak made a huge blunder and forgot to program in a way for the game to determine the initial seed in this game.
That means the random number generator always starts from the same point. 0. This is great for learning how to manip, because you can learn your trainer ID and secret ID, then repeat the same target multiple times for shinies!
Unlike RS, this game doesn’t need a dead battery either! All emerald cartidges can easily RNG Manip with a live battery, so you can have your berries and manip too!
Our beginner section will teach you this. However, this becomes stale after a while. And on top of that, what if you want a Pokemon who isn’t one of your shiny targets?
Well, this is why Emerald is the best! Thanks to its combination of advanced techniques like Painting, Battle Record, and Lead Abilities, we have not only a high degree of control around what Pokemon we can catch, but unbelievable levels of consistency.
RS & FRLG do have similar levels of control around getting different targets to spawn, but those both require at least 2 frame perfect inputs! Emerald will never need more than 1.
On top of all of this, Emerald has the highest variety of available target Pokemon thanks to its expanded Pokedex, map, and numerous event areas.
And the final thing we can’t forget about is glitches, if you’re interested! The Pomeg Glitch & Arbitrary Code Execution. These glitches allow you to expand and customize your specific cartridge however you like.
Just want to unlock old events? Done.
Change your TID/SID to get new shiny frames? Done.
Want to freeze the RNG and change the RNG Seed? Done.
Want to build a fully custom Pokemon using a hex editor inside of the game? Done.
I tend to not do some of the crazier stuff, but it’s all about feel. What’s fun for you, and does it enhance your playthrough?
All of these things combined make Emerald a perfect game to learn how to manip on, and then by the time you want to dive deep and really get into the weeds of it, no game will have more depth & variety than it.
